How to Turn Off Sticky Keys in Windows 10

For the unaware, Sticky keys are a functional feature in Windows 10, designed to assist those who have difficulty pressing two or more keys simultaneously — such as ALT + CTRL + DELETE. In other words, it is an accessible characteristic of the operating system.

With sticky keys enabled, you won’t necessarily need to press the combinations together, but rather, one after the other. For example, to type a capital letter, regular folks would press SHIFT + the letter. With sticky keys turned on, you don’t have to hold on to the SHIFT key. You can press shift (so it remains active), and then press the letter.

Keys like SHIFT, ALT, etc., are also called modifiers. Essentially, these modifiers can remain active by pressing them once — with the usability of the sticky keys.

As discussed, Sticky keys are quite an important aspect to the philosophy of the Windows OS. However, many folks accidentally, or probably mostly during playing games, get the pop-up to turn on the sticky keys despite not wanting it. Generally, the pop-up gets displayed when you press the SHIFT key 5 times.

This can be rather annoying, and you might find yourself looking for a solution to disable this feature permanently.
